In the past, Select Harvests faced challenges with an outdated packaging line from a different supplier that never quite lived up to their expectations. Bottlenecks were common and they even had to remove the decuffing equipment themselves. With demand on the rise, the need for a reliable packaging line became critical.

This time around, Select Harvests invested in a fully integrated Pattyn packaging line. This comprehensive solution includes everything from box making to palletizing, providing a seamless process from start to finish. The company purchased a line with case erecting, bag inserting, case filling, check weighing, vacuum and nitrogen sealing capability, case sealing, metal detection, labeling and robotic palletizing. In other words, the complete package. Mr. Davis stresses Pattyn's attention to detail, tailoring the machine to the needs of the product so that the delicate almond kernels are handled with gentle care.
The new packaging line offers impressive capabilities, handling two box sizes and packing as many as 12 cartons per minute. Mr. Davis highlights two key advantages: reliability and flexibility.
